The questions below have already been submitted for next Tuesday’s public meeting on Willen about MK East:
It will also be possible to ask questions on the night.
Why do we need a new bridge? Cannot the existing bridge at the Tongwell roundabout be widened?
Related to this, cannot Junction 14 be re-configured so that it and a widened bridge at Tongwell are enough to accommodate the likely new traffic?
What is the justification for dualling the V11?
COVID-19 aren’t all future traffic assumptions out-of-date. Have you re-worked those that are in the planning application?
How much of your decision to dual the V11 is driven by the Council’s intention to launch a mass transit system. Will this have dedicated lanes on the dualled V11.
If we have to have a new bridge can it be moved further south on the V11 so that it impinges less on Carleton Gate and Aldrich Drive?
Why do we have to close the southern leg of the V11. Why not have an extra arm into the proposed Carleton Gate roundabout?
What is planned for the space where the southern leg was. Will it be more houses?
Will the alternative link road that is proposed into the new settlement from Willen Road be grid road standard?
Have there been discussions between Caldecote Farm, Bloor Homes and Berkeley about the number of traffic movements from Caldecote Farm and how they will be dispersed?
Will lorries and light goods vehicles leaving the Tongwell estate not change their exit from Michigan Drive onto the roundabout (where they will be forced to turn right) to Delaware Drive where they will exit directly opposite – and try to enter – Hooper Gate.
Are you proposing a 2 metre or a 3 metre acoustic fence to minimise noise, and will it be landscaped?
What thought have you given to redway connectivity?
If there were resident support would you be prepared to close the left hand turn into Carleton Gate (which would become a cul-de-sac) so as to protect the estate?
Will there be an HGV prohibition?
Could Willen be made a 20 mph zone?
What independent flood modelling has been done for the new development?
What proportion of the houses will be affordable?
How much money are you contributing to the Council to maintain the estate after you’ve left?
Have you consulted with the Police on their Secured by Design model for new estates
Will solar panels and air source heat pumps be standard?
Will houses be orientated towards the south?
What will the insulation standards be?
The sewage works at Pineham were located where they were to take advantage of the prevailing wind to blow away odours. Haven’t you placed the new settlement directly in the path of those odours?
